Kat and I are hopeful that Restoration Farm can be a place where people can receive healing. Here is the format that I will use when counseling with them.
"And after the whole nation had been circumcised, they remained where they were in camp until they were healed." - Joshua 5:8
Before the nation of Israel could go into the Promised Land they had to be circumcised. Circumcision is painful, bloody, and personal. God requires each of us to be circumcised in heart before we are allowed to enter and receive the blessings that await each believer in the Promised Land.
This circumcision can often be very painful. Circumcision requires losing our old way of life. The process of spiritual circumcision may mean a loss in areas that have been a part of our lives in order to draw us to the Savior. God understands this. Consequently, like the people of Israel, we must wait until we are healed before we begin to be effective in our calling. If we launch out too early, we will be ineffective and may risk infection and disease and will not be at our full capacity. God wants each of us to walk in His healing grace.
The people of Israel fought only two battles when they were coming out of Egypt. In the Promised Land they fought 39 battles. Each of us must be prepared to enjoy the benefits of living in the Promised Land. However, we must also be prepared to wage war against the enemy of our souls. Make sure the Lord has provided the needed healing to your circumcision experience before you enter the Promised Land. Received From "Prime Time With God"
When we seek healing for spiritual or emotional wounds we will experience pain because before God can heal the wound the root cause has to be cut out. Our spiritual and emotional wounds often surface when we get caught in a sin. In the process I will be using at Restoration Center will not ignore or make light of the sin but the focus will be on what is the real problem. Sin is often a cover up or medication for our wounds.
Here is the process I will use here at Restoration Center to begin this process of cutting out and healing.
1. We first have to discover the root cause of the wound or problem. This step involves asking the Holy Spirit to reveal the true source of the wound or sin.
2. We next need to discover who we belong to if we are a follower of Jesus. This step involves reading and accepting what scripture says about us as followers of Jesus.
3. We next need to acknowledge and accept who we are in Christ. This step involves reading and accepting what scripture says about who we are.
4. We then need to take the step of letting go of whom or what it is that has wounded us. This step involves laying the person or event at Jesus feet and asking the Holy Spirit to remove its control over us.
5. We can now allow the Holy Spirit to begin the process of healing the wound. This step is a process and usually will take some time to complete.

In a session I will spend more time talking specifically about how each step relates to the person. What I have given here is just a guide of the process I will use. As we move through the steps we will pause to seek an encounter with the Holy Spirit. The true revealing and healing will come through these encounters.
I believe once we realize what the real problem is, who we belong to in Christ, who we have become upon accepting Jesus and we lay our problems and sins at Jesus feet we can move on to receiving healing of our wounds.
