Ward Foley

My granddaughter, Dakota, shared with me a book she was reading by Ward Foley called "Thank My Lucky Scars".

I am interested in having Ward come to Restoration Farm for an event. My first step is to find out how much interest there is in hearing Ward. Please watch this video and get back with me.

To connect with me Comment to this post or email me at larry@the-restoration-farm.com.

You have a story just as Ward does and I want to encourage you to use it to encourage others.

Begin Living a New Reality

We often live our lives based on a false reality. Even after accepting Jesus as our savior and receiving the Holy Spirit we keep living the life we had before. I speak this from experience because I sometimes live from the reality of my old life instead of the now.

We are told that the temple of God is no longer located in a building but now located within every believer.

1 Corinthians 6: 19? You should know that your body is a temple for the Holy Spirit that you received from God and that lives in you. You don’t own yourselves.

1 Corinthians 3: 16 You should know that you yourselves are God’s temple. God’s Spirit lives in you.

We are also told that the Kingdom of God is not located just in Heaven but here on the earth.

Luke 17: 21? People will not say, ‘Look, God’s kingdom is here!’ or ‘There it is!’ No, God’s kingdom is here with you.

We are told that Jesus lives in us by the Holy Spirit.

2 Corinthians 13: 5 Look closely at yourselves. Test yourselves to see if you are living in the faith. Don’t you realize that Christ Jesus is in you? Of course, if you fail the test, he is not in you.

We are told that our enemies are defeated because Jesus defeated them and that we belong to God.

1 John 4: 4?  My dear children, you belong to God, so you have already defeated these false prophets. That’s because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

I believe that if we begin to live our lives based on this new reality the old reality will become less and less active in our lives.

I believe if we live as if we are the temple of God we will sin less, if we live as if we are now citizens of the Kingdom instead of just a future hope that we will live in Heaven (not that is not a good hope but Christ came for us to have an abundant life now. John 10: 10)

I believe if we live as if Jesus is living in us our actions will reflect His.

I believe if we will live as if our enemy was defeated by Jesus Christ we will live a life of victory.

Having said all of that I know how hard it is to live this type of life. I want to encourage you to hang with other believers who have this new view of reality. Eventually you will find yourself living a more abundant life and one that impacts the lives of others beyond what you thought you could.

Farm to Table Project

When Kat and I moved to the Ozarks our goal was to create a farm that would be more than just a farm but we wanted a place were people would have an experience. We are planning the next stage in this dream.

Next year we plan to expand not only the amount of crops we produce by the scope of our farm but in order to do so we will need to find about $7,500 in funding.

We are applying for a S.A.R.E. grant called Farm to Table - Growing Chemical Free Micro-Greens for Restaurants

and we are thinking of doing a GoFund Me page

We hope between the two projects we can reach our goal.

Our goal for next year is to triple our farm income and to help at least two other farms to do what we are doing and hire at least one FFA student from the Stover High School.

If you would like to contribute to our goal please visit our go fund me page. If you would like to schedule a private party for 2-12 people please visit www.the-restoration-farm.com.

Here is what we are asking you to do:
1. Make an investment in Restoration Farm.
2. Pray that we will follow what God wants over what we want.
3. Pray that God will bring wounded people to our farm that He wants to heal.
4. Come and spend a day at the farm and experience what we are doing.

What's In Your Heart?

About 5 years ago Kat and I began to dream about building a chemical free farm called Restoration Farm. The mission of the farm would be to restore people's lives through growing chemical free crops, ministering to those with broken hearts and those pastors who were in need of restoration.

Four years ago we left the comfortable surroundings of the Kansas City area and moved to the Ozarks because we felt God was leading us there. We purchased some land and began building Restoration Farm. Here are some photos of what we have built.

While in the Kansas City area we attended the Vineyard Church in Overland Park, KS. We were apart of that body for 12 years and we received healing through that body and we also discovered our spiritual gifts through our involvement with the church. Upon moving here we felt moved by God's spirit to share what we had received at the Vineyard with those in need. We got involved with a church and for 3 years enjoyed the fellowship there. This past summer that church closed it's doors and since then we have been having church Sunday mornings listening to Pastor Mark Warner of the Vineyard Church via the internet.

This morning we listened to the following sermon and we encourage you to take 45 minutes out of your time and listen to it and let God stir in you whatever it is the Spirit wants you to do with your gifts and talents.

A New Reality

I think we find an interesting account of Jesus going to the temple and taking the scroll of Isaiah and reading from it. I find it interesting because most carpenter sons could not read and usually only those educated in the scriptures were allowed to read from the scrolls.

Let’s look at that account.

Luke 4: 17 and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written: 18 ”The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”[a]

20 When he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21 He began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

John 14: 12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

These two scriptures point out Jesus’ and our mission.

So I ask why isn’t the church healing more people?, freeing captives? Restoring the sight of the sight of the blind?

Before we answer this question Let’s consider a few questions:

Do you believe 1 Corinthians 6: 19? You should know that yourhttps://cdncache1-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png body is a temple[a] for the Holy Spirit that you received from God and that lives in you. You don’t own yourselves.

Do you believe 1 Corinthians 3: 16 You should know that you yourselves are God’s temple.[a] God’s Spirit lives in you.

Do you believe Luke 17: 21? People will not say, ‘Look, God’s kingdom is here!’ or ‘There it is!’ No, God’s kingdom is here with you.

Do you believe 2 Corinthians 13: 5?
2 Corinthians 13: 5 Look closely at yourselves. Test yourselves to see if you are living in the faith. Don’t you realize that Christ Jesus is in you? Of course, if you fail the test, he is not in you.

Finally, Do you believe 1 John 4: 4?  My dear children, you belong to God, so you have already defeated these false prophets. That’s because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

I believe most of us would answered yes to those questions but I wonder do we really deep in our hearts believe those apply to us personally. I wonder that because I often do not see the church being very effective at doing what Jesus said we would be doing.

Why isn’t the church healing more people?, freeing captives? Restoring the sight of the sight of the blind? I believe the answer is found in:

Mark 4:35-41  That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.”  Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him.  A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped.  Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”

He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.

He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”

They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”

Another account of this event is found in Matthew 8: 23-26

I believe what we discover in these verses is the disciples reacted and Jesus responded to the storm from different realities. Look at the account again.

Marriage Ruling by SCOUS

Today June 26 2015 the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that Gays have the same right to marriage as heterosexual couples have. It is my opinion that consenting adults can do pretty much whatever they want in their own house as long as it does not hurt others or involve minors. It is also my opinion based on the Bible that marriage is to be between one man and one woman.

One of my joys as a pastor has been to counsel couples for marriage and then perform their wedding ceremony. It is with sadness that I must now refuse to perform any marriages either for straight or gay couples. I think the best thing for me is to step out of performing any weddings or cater any receptions at Restoration Farm.  I have other things that I can do other than weddings and receptions. The only exception to this will be to offer to my family a traditional one man one woman Bible based wedding ceremony.

We will no longer offer our cabin for rent to people but it will still be offered to our friends and guests at no cost. The Restoration cabin will no longer be used in ministry or be available to pastors or missionaries as a ministry.

It is my belief that since the United States government wants to take over marriage then they can  perform the ceremonies.

Until our nation and the church turns back to honoring God the above is our policy here at Restoration Farm.

Praise, Presence and Power

On Saturday evening June 13th a group of us met at a local bank and participated in a short worship service lead by Joe Farrell followed by a short message by me based on the following scriptures:

Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners

John 14: 12-13  Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.  And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Matthew 10: 7-8 As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.

Then Dan Gore spoke and then Eric Wilding.

We had a wonderful time and we watched God heal several people of physical injuries or emotional wounds. A few of the more dramatic ones were legs that were not the same length being bought into alignment.
